Yes, it's been only a few hours since the introductory issue, but things are a rollin here in the U.S. As everybody has seen, voting for the party presidential elections closed yesterday evening. Some wins were expected, while other winners were ones that never expected to win. The Phantom Sentinel team decided to go out and interview those who won the elections, as well as those who lost the elections to see what emotions are flying and how people are continuing forward in this march to keep the U.S. at the top of the world.
To start off, let's talk about Phantom Blood:
8 people ran for party president, and 4 of those people received votes. Morten628 won the elections with an overwhelming majority, winning 74.56% of the votes.
Bloods Bandits Results:
6 people ran for party president, and 5 of those received votes. Zenegrad won the elections with an overwhelming majority, winning 92.56% of the votes.
As for the other parties, according to various sources, it seems that votes were never cast. If anybody has information otherwise, please contact us.
Once the election results went live, Phantom Sentinel went and interviewed some key players in these elections, Phoenix and Zenegrad from Bloods Bandits and Morten628 and Splax from Phantom Blood.
In all of these interviews, PS covered mostly the same general topics. Here are the tl;dr's:
- Was confident going into the election because he feels that he was fulfilling his duties as Party President. Upon the revelation of the election results, that confidence was shattered and Phoenix was left asking himself "Why? What have I done wrong?" Despite the loss, he says that new doors of opportunity have been opened and is ready and excited to enter them. When asked what those opportunities were, here's what he said. "New parties to be able to join, and such. I've got one in mind, but not everything is finalized yet."
- Going into election day, Zenegrad was a mix of excitedness and nervousness. He had been rigorously campaigning, so he felt his odds were good. Even with his confidence in the odds, he was very surprised to see the results when they were revealed. The shock factor was even higher when he saw the percentage difference between votes for him vs votes for his competitors. As the new party president for Bloods Bandits, I asked him for some goals for his party under his leadership, and here's what he said: "Right now, I'm trying to get everyone I can onto our Discord server so we can have better communication and organization." With his eyes set on keeping his party and the U.S. on top of the world, the second president of Bloods Bandits has taken office
- Morten's approach to the election was slightly different than those we previously interviewed. When asked how he felt, he said that he was "fine. If i didn't win, someone i would support would most likely win instead." When PS asked him about his campaign strategy, he told us that he didn't do anything. No campaigning, nothing. Of course, because of pre-election chatter, he had his hopes that he would win, which is a good thing because at least the guy who won wants the job. When we began to briefly discuss his goals, he highlighted that he wanted to correct some of the failures of the previous party president, pointing out that he wanted to "put a CP up for election that knows what (s)he is doing and a congress that would support him/her.....it is very nice to win an election but if some of the people that get into congress are people we have no way of contacting, then that is bad"
- Splax was a fun one to interview. His intentions when he entered the election were quite different from any of the other candidates we talked to. He came in second place with 16.67% of the Phantom Blood votes. When asked why he entered into the elections, here's what he said: "What i wanted to do is to bring a bit more "drama" and try to make the election a bit more interesting. i was actually surprised that i got 17% as i was thinking that the only vote will be mine." He did no campaigning, but he did mention that he was confident had he done some campaigning, he would've gotten more votes. He does support Morten628's win fully and said that "the job will be well done" because of it. He still plans on playing a role in politics because he feels that he will be active enough and has enough experience to be an effective congressman. For now, though, he wants to stay off of the main political stage.
